The House of Emmanuels Foundation has awarded fully funded, three-year secondary school scholarships to 20 academically outstanding students from public secondary schools in Ogun State in the 2nd edition of its scholarship initiative, reaffirming its commitment to expanding educational opportunities for young people from local communities.

The scholarships were presented on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Lisabi Grammar School, Idiaba, Abeokuta, during the second edition of the Foundation's educational intervention programme.

The 20 beneficiaries emerged from a competitive scholarship examination organised by the Foundation in April, which attracted more than 500 students from public secondary schools across Abeokuta North and Abeokuta South Local Government Areas. The 20 highest-performing students were selected on merit to receive scholarships covering their education from Senior Secondary School One (SS1) through Senior Secondary School Three (SS3).

More than 300 other participants who attended the awards ceremony received consolation prizes comprising school backpacks and books.

Comprehensive Educational Support

Each scholarship beneficiary received a certificate and an academic support package containing school uniforms, school bags, sandals and writing materials. The Foundation will also cover tuition and other school-related fees throughout the three-year scholarship period, as well as WASSCE registration fees when the beneficiaries become eligible to sit for the examination.

Founded by Mr. Oluwasegun Amos Emmanuel, The House of Emmanuels Foundation is committed to alleviating poverty and addressing hunger in local communities through educational material supplies, vocational training, health education and wellness, and financial literacy.

Speaking through Hon. Solomon Enilolobo, Managing Director of Oluwalogbon Electronics, who represented him at the ceremony, the Founder reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to using education as a tool for creating opportunities and changing lives.

He urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, remain committed to their studies and recognise the responsibility that comes with receiving the scholarship. He also encouraged them to remember others and contribute to their communities when they eventually have the means to make a difference.

Hon. Solomon Enilolobo further encouraged the students to remain disciplined, focused and intentional about their academic journey, noting that the opportunity could positively influence not only their individual futures but also the wellbeing and prospects of their families.

The keynote speaker, Mr. Tobi Joseph, a media practitioner, life coach and corporate businessman, similarly challenged the beneficiaries to view the scholarship as both an opportunity and a responsibility. He encouraged them to demonstrate appreciation through hard work, discipline and academic excellence.

'You Are Winners Too'

Addressing the other examination participants, Olusegun Olusanya, a Programmes Coordinator with The House of Emmanuels Foundation, reminded them that not being among the 20 scholarship beneficiaries did not diminish their achievement.

He noted that they were winners because their respective schools had selected them to represent their schools in a competitive examination involving hundreds of students. He encouraged them to study harder, remain focused and never lose sight of their dreams.

The consolation prizes, he explained, were also intended to recognise their efforts and encourage continued academic excellence.

Speaking at the event, the Zonal Education Officer for Abeokuta South Zone, Mrs Lawal Olusola, represented by an Education Officer, Mrs Adelaja Aderonke, encouraged the students to make the most of the opportunity provided to them and remain focused on their education and academic development.

Investing in the Future

The ceremony brought together beneficiaries, parents, teachers, community leaders and other stakeholders who witnessed the culmination of the scholarship selection process.

For the beneficiary families, the intervention provides significant relief from some of the financial demands associated with secondary education while enabling the students to focus more fully on their academic development.

The 2026 programme builds on the Foundation's broader commitment to educational support and community empowerment. By providing sustained support from SS1 to SS3, the Foundation seeks to remove some of the financial barriers that can prevent academically promising students from reaching their full potential.

With 20 students receiving three years of comprehensive educational support and more than 300 additional participants receiving educational materials as consolation prizes, the programme extends its impact beyond the scholarship recipients.

The House of Emmanuels Foundation maintains that financial circumstances should not prevent a capable young person from pursuing an education. Through the scholarship programme, the Foundation is investing in academic potential, opportunity and the capacity of young people to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

Twenty students. Three years of support. A future filled with possibilities.
