The Nigerian Premier Football League title race is wide open after Rivers United and Enyimba both posted away wins on Sunday, leaving the defending champions and the People's Elephant locked on 41 points apiece with eight matchdays to go.

Rivers United edged Sunshine Stars 1-0 at the Akure Township Stadium thanks to a 78th-minute strike from Nyima Nwagua, while Enyimba ran out 3-1 winners over Plateau United in Jos.
